Ella - The Song

Momma had the privilege of working for and getting to know the talented folk-rock singer Sally Spring during her (too) many years toiling away at an old job. Recently, after doing a little bit of work for Sally, in exchange she graciously agreed to write a song about Ella.

We thought it would be short and sweet, but the result is lovely, heartfelt, and... simply perfect. :o) It blows away any expectations we had, and we are left awed at Sally's amazing singing and musical abilities.

Triple Stack Attack!

Using the biscuits from last night's baking extravaganza, three biscuits are stacked with cheddar mashed potato filling. I tried to make some pretty mashed tater rosettes for the top, but my makeshift pastry bag 'sploded on me.

Sprinkled along the edges are puppermint bones (to cleanse the palate).

I don't think Ella cared too much about the lack of pretty. She snarfed this down and asked for more. ;o)

Valentine's Day Preview!

After chomping on V-Day antlers Daisy had, Momma had to get creative with materials from the dollar store: doorknob hangers in the shape of hearts, some groucho marx glasses (minus the eyebrows and mustache), tape, and some wired red ribbon. :o)

Surprisingly, what caught and kept my attention during this photo session was NOT food... it was a brand new squeaky toy in the shape of a heart!
